Introduction

When you enter Boston’s Symphony Hall and look towards the stage, you will see a single name adorning the arch that overhangs the podium. That name, of course, is BEETHOVEN. (See picture above). Music lovers love to argue about who is the GOAT amongst Western classical composers, but in the end, it usually comes down to Bach, Mozart and Beethoven – the trio of musical giants who stand astride Parnassus, like mighty Himalayan peaks, their height almost indistinguishable one from another, each with a claim to being the GREATEST of ALL TIME.

Fortunately, of course, art is not like sports, we don’t have to choose between the greats. But, if we had to?
